After learning about TED’s API 50 program, where they were giving out API keys to 50 users, I knew that I had to get access. I wrote up a crazy proposal and then submitted it. Long after I had forgotten about my submission, I received word that it was accepted. I recognized that one of the first things I’d need for my project was a nice Ruby wrapper to interface with the TED API - so I wrote this Gem. TED are eventually going to open up public access to the API, so I released this as a Ruby Gem. It’s written using Faraday for HTTP requests and Rspec for testing. Once I’ve completed the TED project, I will share the source code for that too, but in the meantime, what it does is secret.
